Kelvin Wu

CET Director Kelvin Wu

Kelvin Wu joined the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office as the Public Relations Officer in December 2021 and was promoted to Director of Community Engagement in October 2023.

Mr. Wu is a first-generation immigrant from Macau, China. He speaks native Cantonese and Mandarin. Wu graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law and subsequently joined the Mayor's Office as the Mayor's Community Liaison. During the pandemic, Kelvin deployed to the COVID Command Center (CCC) as the Joint Information Center Assistant Director, which allowed him to work closely with AAPI, Latino, African American, LGBTQ+, and other communities. He also serves as the CCC spokesperson on AAPI media. 

As the Director, Kelvin is responsible for establishing, developing, and managing the Community Engagement Team. The Team aims to build trust, communication, and transparency between our Office and the people we serve through community events, Community-Based Organization meetings, public safety forums, outreach, etc. 

Kelvin is married with two children. In his spare time, Wu enjoys coaching and playing basketball, traveling with family, and capturing all the unforgettable moments with his photography skills.
