From 2018 to 2022, the Sheriff’s Office operated three jails with a total rated capacity of 1,562 beds. In September 2020, the Sheriff’s Office closed County Jail #4 at 850 Bryant St., eliminating 402 beds.
Two jails remain in service: County Jail #2 at 425 - 7th Street, housing all genders with a rated capacity of 392 beds; and County Jail #3 in San Bruno housing justice-involved males with a rated capacity of 768 beds.
