Find out if you have a warrant

You can find out if there is a warrant for your arrest by appearing in person at the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office Central Records and Warrants Unit (CRW).

In this page:
What is a warrant?

A warrant is a court-ordered legal document that gives law enforcement the authority to take action one of three ways. This includes:

  1. An arrest warrant that directs law enforcement officers to place someone under arrest
  2. A search warrant that directs law enforcement officers to search a person, their home, or other property
  3. A bench warrant that directs law enforcement officers to place someone under arrest. This is often used when people fail to appear for court dates
